Manuscript Critique Service

For an additional $45 fee, registered conference participants may submit up to ten (10) typed, double-spaced pages in the following categories: novel, screenplay, short story, creative nonfiction, memoir, children’s or YA.

A written critique will be provided before the conference by one of the following faculty members: Kathleen Duey, Charlotte Cook, Dr. Kate Gale, Paula Huston, Merrily Kutner, Becky Levine, Melissa Pritchard, Diane Lindsey Reeves, and Victoria Zackheim.

Limited Poetry Critique

Poet Dr. Kate Gale has offered to critique poems. She will critique up to 10 (1 to 2) page poems for the regular critique fee of $45. She can only do a limited number, however, so the first to signup will get this service.

Limited Children's Picture Book Critique

Picture Book Author Merrily Kutner will do up to 20 Children’s Picture Book Critiques. Manuscripts are limited to 1,500 words at the regular critique fee of $45. The first 20 to register for the conference and request Ms. Kutner’s review will be assigned her critique services.

Electronic submissions are preferred. Send the manuscript as a Microsoft Word (.doc) or rich text format (.rtf) attachment. Clearly mark at the top of the first page your name, phone number, email address, and the category of the manuscript. Also, please include in the body of your email or on a separate page a SHORT paragraph (no more than 50 words) that says what your manuscript is about and who is the intended audience.

Please NO illustrations, photographs, or book mock-ups. We accept manuscript text only.  Electronic submissions should be emailed to lhinson@cuesta.edu
