Dr. G. Reid Lyon


Dr. Lyon has authored, co-authored and edited more than 120 journal articles, books, and book chapters addressing evidence-based education, and learning differences and disabilities in children. “Reid Lyon has broken new ground in using science-based research to teach children to read,” said Randy Best. Prior to his most recent position as Executive Vice President for Research and Evaluation at Higher Ed Holdings, Dr. Lyon was the Chief of the Child Development and Behavior Branch within National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) from 1992 until 2005. Dr. Lyon has appeared on NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN and National Public Radio to discuss issues relevant to education, child development and educational policies.

& Dr. Sam Goldstein


Sam Goldstein, Ph.D. is a psychologist with areas of study in school psychology, child development, and neuropsychology. He is a well-know author and his recent books include: Raising a Self-Disciplined Child, and Understanding and Managing Children’s Classroom Behavior: Creating Sustainable, Resilient Classrooms. He is licensed as a developmental disabilities evaluator in the state of Utah. At The
Neurology, Learning, and Behavior Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, he evaluates
and provides treatment services to children, adolescents, and adults with histories of
neurological disease, head trauma, attention deficit disorders, specific learning
disabilities, autism, depression, and anxiety disorders.
