High School Basketball Leagues

"Rules and Regulations"

    1. All games will be played in the Cuesta gymnasiums.

    2. Five players must start the game.

  1. Teams responsible for numbered jerseys.

  2. Teams supply game balls.

  3. League not responsible for lost articles.

  4. League not responsible for injuries. Both the player and a parent/guardian must read and sign the "Acknowledgment & Assumption of Potential Risk" form.

    7. League and tournament play will consist of two 20-minute halves with a running clock. The clock will stop for:

    1. Shooting fouls (clock to start when ball handed to F.T. shooter)

    2. Time-outs

    3. Last two minutes of the second half.

  1. Overtimes will be three minutes long with a running clock. Clock stops during last 30 seconds.

  2. Time-outs: There will be one time out allotted in the first half, which may not be carried over to the second half; and two time outs allotted in the second half with no carry over. One time out allotted for any overtime, no carry over time outs. Time outs last 40 seconds.

  3. Free throws on bonus situations; 10th foul and up, two shots. No 1-1’s at 7th foul.

  4. No shot clock.

  5. Players will be disqualified on the sixth foul. Technical fouls will count as team and player fouls. Two technical fouls and player is ejected from game. Player will also be suspended for the next game. Two ejections from games and player is automatically suspended for all remaining games.

  6. CIF basketball playing rules will be administered by officials and table, unless noted in "Cuesta High School Basketball League Rules and Regulations".

  7. There will be a five-minute warm-up before the game and a 3-minute half time.

  8. All teams will be allowed to have an open roster for all games played; however, only players who have played at least 1 game per round-robin schedule will be allowed to represent their team in the playoffs (if applicable).

  9. Entry fee of $450 to cover league coordination, supervision, officials, table crew, statisticians, gym costs, and awards (t-shirts 10 max per team). This amount is payable prior to the first game.

  10. League management reserves the right to move teams to other divisions based on performance of first league game.
