IRT
Immediate Release Technique
IRT provides the
client a safe environment for the rapid release of panic,
negative emotions and behaviors. These behaviors can be
associated with irrational fears occurring with High
Priority Presenting Issues (HPPI) (i.e., accidents,
earthquakes) accompanying a perceived or real emergency. IRT
is intended to desensitize and release the trauma associated
with present time issues. The information presented
demonstrates how to deal with uncomfortable emotions quickly
and safely. This class is part of the full
Rapid Eye Technique model that deals with “one client at a
time, one issue at a time” utilizing the MEDD, eye patch and
Skills for Life. This course provides theory, hands on
application and proficient use of the MEDD (modified eye
directing device) and the eye patch. It is a valuable
technique for first responders.
Fee includes workbook.

Testimonials:
It is without reservation
that I recommend the process of Rapid Eye Technology (RET)
and Immediate Release Technique (IRT), a collection of solid
skills based on cutting edge technology. I found this
process to be an innovative approach in scene management and
peer support for emergency service providers. IRT is a low
cost practical technique to reduce stress quickly on the
scene. I also see RET as a tool to deal with critical stress
debriefing, as well as existing Delayed Stress Syndrome. -

I work as a Registered
Nurse at a local hospital and hospice. I also volunteer for
ski patrol. I have used Immediate Release Technique (IRT),
for both major and minor medical emergencies. I have applied
this process to many patients - from those with heart pain
while moving down the hall on the crash cart to assisting
coworkers in coming down from emotional triggers. On the
mountain I have used the IRT process on skiers with
fractures to control pain until the paramedics arrived. It
is a pleasure for me to know how to assist quickly and give
skills to help them through the upcoming difficult moments.-
