Canine Caretaking & Partnership Obedience Training
Employing the use of an
instructor-written syllabus of compiles handouts as the
content for instruction and discussion, this seminar
involves all aspects of canine caretaking…including health,
diet, grooming, successful animal-human bonding measures,
identifying temperament in breeds and in individual dogs,
structuring the home environment for house training and
behavioral success, as well as instructing caretakers in
basic handling techniques, utilizing non-force and
reward-based methods such as applied operant conditioning,
(clicker training). The seminar is intended to be both
informational and content oriented, as well as “hand-on” to
provide a setting for puppy socialization and basic dog
training that involves the creation of partnership
relationships between dogs and its human caretaker.
The
seminar is intended for new canine caretakers with puppies
between the ages of 12 to 20 weeks of age. First class will
be an orientation with no dogs allowed where proof of
vaccinations must be shown and a $20
materials fee (cash only) for handouts will be collected
by the instructor.
