Fourth GRADE CAMP
For the
child entering the 4th grade

An
exciting 4-day camp at the San Luis Obispo Campus designed
for students entering the 4th grade in Fall of 2010. Campers
are supervised as they rotate to 3 subjects each day. They
experience hands-on art activities, active keyboard and
computer operations, and in science, they will explore the
world.

Art,

Explore art techniques in various types of art media. This
class offers creative expression while promoting different
approaches to drawing and watercolor painting. Projects help
develop hand-to-eye coordination. Please dress appropriately,
as this class is "hands-on."
Computers,
Heather Burchmore;

This class
includes an introduction to the keyboard, keyboard
operations and using a word processor. Students will learn
different aspects of the Office Professional package using
Word, PowerPoint, and MS Publisher.
Science,
Karen Poland; Room 4710
Explore the World in four
exciting days! Learn about marine science -- animals in and
out of the ocean; and, terrestrial animals -- the skins,
bones, teeth and skulls of animals that live on land. We
will study geology -- exploring our planet Earth through
rocks and minerals. Then bugs! Look at the world of insects
-- how is a spider different from a beetle? We will compare
insects on land and water. Finally soil -- we will explore
soil and the creatures (decomposers) that live in it.
